About this policy
This policy explains how lordofthelawns.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies, what choices you have, and how to change them.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, tracking pixels and device fingerprinting. Where this policy says cookies, it means all of these.
The law
Cookies in the United Kingdom are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended, and by the UK General Data Protection Regulation where personal data is involved.
The rule is that we must obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. A limited number of categories are exempt, including anything strictly necessary for a service you have asked for.
Your choice
When you first visit this site you are asked whether to allow non-essential cookies. Nothing non-essential is placed on your device before you choose.
You can accept everything, reject everything, or choose category by category. Rejecting costs you nothing. Every part of this website works exactly the same either way.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
What we use, by category
Strictly necessary. One item of local storage recording the choice you made here. Without it we would have to ask you again on every page. It contains only your preference and the date you set it. This does not require consent and cannot be switched off, because it exists solely to honour your decision.
Advertising and social media. Only if you consent. We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we may use the Meta Pixel to understand which adverts lead to enquiries. It is set by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, can recognise you across other websites and apps that also use it, and is used to measure and target advertising. If you decline, it is never loaded.
Embedded content. Only if you consent. Some pages may show content hosted by another company, such as a map. That company can set its own cookies as soon as the content loads, whether or not you interact with it. If you decline, the content is not loaded and you will see a placeholder instead.
What we do not do
We do not sell information about you. We do not share your browsing with data brokers. We do not use cookies to set different prices for different people. We do not make the site harder to use if you decline.
Measuring how the site is used
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they look at. It uses no cookies, no fingerprinting, and collects nothing that identifies you. It requires no consent and is always on.
The quote form
When you complete the form, your details are sent to us by email through Web3Forms. This is a single transmission of information you chose to give us. It sets no cookie and does not track you afterwards. What we do with those details is covered by our Privacy Policy.
Other websites
Where we link to another site, that site has its own cookies and its own policy. We are not responsible for what happens once you leave ours.
How long consent lasts
Your choice is stored for twelve months, after which we will ask again. You can change it sooner at any time.
Changes
If we add anything that places new cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again before it is used. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
Questions or complaints
Email hello@lordofthelawns.co.uk and we will respond.
If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
